16 Days of Activism 2016

What?

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence, which runs from the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls on 25 November to Human Rights Day on 10 December.

You can find out more about the 16 Days of Activism and ideas for action at: http://16dayscwgl.rutgers.edu/2016/2016-theme-announcement-take-action-kit

The theme of this year’s campaign is education and Bristol Zero Tolerance will be taking this opportunity to raise the profile of the Bristol Ideal, which is a set of standards for schools that promote healthy relationships and tackle domestic and sexual violence. On a national level we are promoting #SREnow, the campaign to make Sex and Relationships Education (SRE) mandatory for all young people so that they have the tools, information and support they need to navigate healthy relationships.

We are planning something for every day of the 16 Days, so please keep an eye on our social media and share. We have also created a programme of events for Bristol to let you know what’s happening.
